POETRY
Poetry has served to access the deepest recesses of my heart. The words are at times inadequate symbols of the soul’s pre-utterances.
I puzzle over questions of the heart. "Of The Heart" developed during a walk along the beach where I attempted to plumb its meaning
“I Corinthians 13:4-8*”
Alone in the Palm Hotel
Before violence and destruction
Engulfed The Lebanon
Reading these words –
Tears flowed
Not for the malice
In the harsh glances
Hurried footsteps of strangers.
No – tears flowed
For past hurts,
Insensitive was I
To the presence of the Other.
In the years to follow
I plunged not unerringly
Into Love’s power
Manifest in patience,
Trust, and forgiveness.
Now, many years later
When tears flow
They are of thankfulness
For that moment of reflection
Amid the clamor for war

“Cherry Blossoms”
The cherry blossoms
Coming into bloom
Remind me
That one year has passed
Since you departed
From our view.
I remember last year,
Just after your passing,
How sad I felt to think
That you had just missed
The blossoms --
After the harsh winter snows.
Perhaps in my sorrow --
Too soon to see the meaning –
I missed them
As a sign for us
To celebrate your transition
To the Light.
This year in joy the blossoms
Remind me of your presence
Just below the surface
Of words, time, and events --
Of love rising in union,
A resurrection of sorts.

“Until Forever”
I will wait for you until forever –
My declaration of patience
timeless in import.
A break-through that spans an eternity,
Rather eternities of Love without boundaries.
No-time, no-space, dimension-less body,
Births without lifetimes, a supra-consciousness,
Leaping and bounding within soul union
As fear, loss, and separation release.
Acknowledging an ever present moment
Alive in creative surrender made possible
Through heart-tears and brokenness that
Yields to an alchemic, even Divine, transformation.
Illumination – enlightenment confirm.
How healing to surrender
To the impulse of Divine Love
From which all Love emanates.
I will wait for you until forever.
