Scripture: While I was watching, thrones were set in place and one most venerable took his seat. His robe was white as snow, the hair of his head as pure as wool. His throne was a blaze of flames, its wheels were a burning fire. A stream of fire poured out, issuing from his presence. A thousand waited on him, ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was in session and the books lay open. Daniel 7:9-10

Note: Daniel is a representative apocalyptic seer, who accepts his God as the true source of knowledge.

Prayer: I am so thankful that I am inspired to research what is presented to me, discovering all the time a truth that I would have missed. So, it is in reflecting upon this morning’s scripture in the bright morning light.

Response: While I was watching—are words that mirror for you the search for the Lord’s truth in all aspects of your life. That truth is discovered in what you read and reflect upon, in those with whom you are blessed to encounter, especially when you listen, in your prayers that range the globe and the conflicts that sometimes engulf wide areas.

A stream of fire poured out, issuing from his presence—Note how you are touched as intimately as if you were present as Daniel preached in the mid-second century, BC. Your stillness gives voice to the Lord’s inspiration this very moment as it was delivered to Daniel.

The court was in session and the books lay open—Here you are this morning lifting words off a page and seeing them disappear as inspiration into the corridors of your heart. Praise the ever-present Lord who occupies that heart to overflowing.

All for this morning.
