Scripture: Jesus answered them: “I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever hunger; no one who believes in me will ever thirst.” John 6:35

Prayer: The morning moisture cover the window, requiring me to reassemble in my mind the structures, trees, and vegetation before me into the familiar scene of my morning. So, I reflect upon these familiar words that have carried so much meaning for me.

Response: You are on the fringes of a large crowd of Jesus’ followers, almost unaware of the press of those seeking to gain a better place to hear and see the Lord. Somehow, you remain still in the Lord’s presence, taking in very word and feeling recognition in His eyes as He focuses His glance in your direction.

I am the bread of life. You find yourself nodding in agreement, though you have often challenged this truth as you pursued sometimes conflicting paths. You don’t even have to read the words that follow, so familiar are you with the grace that accompanies your recognition, much like how you reassembled in your heart His words as they apply to your life this morning.

You have not and will not hunger in the Lord’s embrace, nor will you ever thirst as you seek Him daily in your sometimes erratic and unconscious path through the forest that is laid out before you. Repeat today, in all the uncertainty it might reveal, the words—No one who believes in me will every thirst. You are encouraged to pause these words to penetrate your heart today and the following days of your life. Praise God!

All for this morning.
