Scripture: When Jesus reached the official’s house and saw the flute-players, with the crowd making a commotion, he said, “Get out of here; the little girl is not dead; she is asleep.” And they ridiculed him. But when the people had been turned out he went inside and took her by the hand; and she stood up. And the news of this spread all round the countryside. Matthew 9:23-26

Prayer: How many times during this long life have I been taken by the hand and awakened?

Response: Consider the prayers whispered for your recovery in all life’s circumstances by family, friends, and those who were casual contacts, or even strangers. Even now you are blessed with the healing love of the Lord, prompted by the prayers of those who might know you better than you know yourself.

Isn’t it amazing your recovery, we can say, and how you remain in the ever-deepening heart corridors that were revealed following some unwise choices, deep grieving, loneliness, lack of forgiveness, impatience, and even a hopelessness of sorts?

Like rough gold, the Lord has burnished, and continues to burnish the you within to a youthful sheen without marginalized the years of toil. Pray for those who have paused at the roadside wondering what is happening to them. Praise the Lord!

All for this morning.
