Scripture: Hear O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone! Therefore, you shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:4-5

Prayer: My home is filled with visitors who are still sleeping. These are spacious moments of silence for me as I reflect upon the anointed words of scripture, transmitted from 3000 years in the past to me, looking upon a canal that is flowing westward. And then the spacious moments of silence were interrupted by four guests coming upstairs for breakfast!

Response: Indeed, you are blessed with opportunities to be still at soul level amidst chaos. The smile on your face reflects the love of your God, the Lord alone.

It is worthy for you to spend some time this day on what it means to love your God with all your heart—yes, with all your heart; and reflect upon the dimension of your soul—that inner corridor of whom you are.

Finally, measure your strength. Is it perseverance, endurance, determination, or all three? Realize that the Lord is present—stirring within you, calming you at the very center of your being. Praise the Lord!

All for this morning.
