Meditation — March 10, 2018

Scripture: Let us know, let us strive to know Yahweh; that he will come is as certain as the dawn, He will come to us like a shower, like the rain of springtime to the earth. Hosea 6:3

Prayer: Looking at the morning sky, I expect that shower sometime during the day—a day raking leaves and brush awaits me, if the showers hold off, a day reading quietly in a corner overlooking the garden, and a day with a loved one expressing sentiments. So I am certain that He will come to me this day in the murmurings of my heart.

Response: How many years did it take for you to pause in the presence of the Lord and listen? When did you finally put aside the almost geometrical formulas of prayer, and discovered that He is within you, and you learned patience, and sometimes perseverance, as you listened intently for the breath of His healing love.

By now you have come to know that your journey each day is filled with instances where the Lord invites you into an even more intimate relationship. Difficult it is to realize that your journey is never-ending, as His love enfolds you in the frost and sometimes loneliness of life.

He has and will come to you in the sudden storm that disrupts for a time your equilibrium; yet that storm inevitably brings to you growth in healing and harmony never anticipated. Pray for those still puzzled by the storms, yet welcome and are jubilant in the rising sun at dawn. Praise God!

All for this morning.
