Scripture: “But seek f:irst (the Father’s) kingdom and His righteousness, and all things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6-33-34

Prayer: In rifling through my pockets this morning, I came upon a handwritten note to myself with Matthew’s words. I can’t even remember what prompted me to copy the words on the scribbled piece of paper. Have in jest I think that maybe I didn’t write it!

Response: In the rhythm of this day—even a rainy, chilly day like the present, there are clues of the Lord’s presence that you could hardly miss. Come to realize that the Lord makes Himself present to you wherever you are throughout the day, and as you can recall His message has been especially dramatic in your life at times of great suffering.

Today, you are a recipient of just such a message—like a note, phone call, or text that you receive from a loved one, which causes you to pause from whatever you were doing as you turn your attention to that loved one. You are blessed to receive the note today, but even more so that it caused you to be still in the Lord’s love and grace.

Aren’t you prompted to send a short note—perhaps, writing “I love you” to someone who especially precious to you for the love you share. The wider circle of love you share and those who bless you with their love. Consider, finally, that those you bless with your love just might be moved to do the same within their circle. Realize that in doing so, you all are seeking first the Kingdom of God and all of you are truly blessed. Praise God.

All for today.
