Scripture: For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all. Doxology: Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out. “Who have known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:32-36

Prayer: It was a magnificent early morning on the sand as I observed two surfers some distance from shore waiting for the perfect wave to bring them to the shore. At home, I reflect upon the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God.

Response: Indeed, you have experienced the Lord’s mercy throughout your life—and it continues. His mercy is as consistent and full of His grace, especially when you are weary and lose momentarily your orientation alone at times in the shadows of uncertainty.

Yet, your weariness seems momentary when you consider the wisdom, knowledge, and inspiration that overwhelms you and is simply not of your own doing. Yes, the Lord inspires your actions and thoughts and intentions even in the depth of a long life.

Give acknowledgement to the Lord’s grace in the actions and prayers you undertake this day, especially for those who count this day as just another day, no more unique than the previous, though the whisper of the Lord’s breath around you is so distinguishable. Praise God!

All for this morning.
