Silence
Something’s missing,
Except in echo
Above a piercing
Silence that speaks
Of desert drift,
Absent a touch,
Smile – care – concern,
Or is that unfair?
Silence enshrouding,
Except for plaintive pen
Scratching thoughts across
A blackboard of doubt.
