Eternal Momentum

His passing surprised
Even him among those
Watching – waiting present.

He wondered curiously
What would he feel
When feeling ceased.

He wished in that
Nanosecond to
Reassure — smile,

As he lost hold of
What others thought
Him to be.

So there he is,
A memory enduring
As long as the last

Survivor remembers
His deep laughter,
Foolishness — passion,

Loneliness — sorrow,
Gentle service and
Love that accompanies

On a journey of
Unanticipated wonder
In brilliant light,

Awakening in
An unending moment
Of eternal momentum.
