End of the Affair
What an experience!
Rare soul encounter,
Two became one in spirit
Thought passion dance
Culinary laughter
Adventure discovery
Stillness care touch
And yes love.
Blended close
Respectful aspiring
Inspiring insightful
And then it ended,
As affairs do most times,
Responsibilities suffer intrude,
Respectfulness threatened,
No blame just boldness-less.
So appearances do matter
As reflections caught
In funhouse mirrors,
Distorted ripple views,
Captured by those who safe -
Not saved – collect as pledges
To unfilled dream promises,
Written on fragile parchment.
With dull smiles they approve,
In gray formless garments,
Exhort adherence to order,
Sanity not sanctity,
Promote journeys on placid seas
Absent storm cresting waves
That rise one to new heights,
Plunge to new depths.
Pity when affairs end,
Especially if dreams
So rarely experienced
Go unrealized in life.
