Passage
I touched you in your pain,
Felt your smile in return,
Heard agony and loss
In every movement,
Though witnessed laughter
In your steady gaze.
Our paths diverge just now,
I can accompany no further,
Leave your bags – shed concerns,
No mind to future tasks
Once so innumerable.
There is no future only now
In presence blazing light
His love thus dissipates
That former fear – anxious breath,
As I become one in His love,
That love once taught,
Learned and remembered,
For this day – my day of passage
As I am swept aloft
In secure embrace.
