Six osprey dance on thermals
Three hundred feet above;
In circles they glide whisper-low,
Then rapidly speed upward
Against an ice-blue canvas.
Flat clouds texture-rough
Drift south like waffles
Browning golden
On the rising sun.
How quiet.
